A difficulty in women’s psychoanalysis: the ravage of the mother-daughter relationship

Abstract

This article is a special intervention of the psychoanalyst Marie-Hélène Brousse. The author works on the conceptualization of the ravage, starting from the elaborations of Freud and Lacan, analyzing it as a consequence of the "outburst" and as a point that coincides with the failure of the countenance.

She explains her thesis based on his clinical experience in which the repetition of the same element, in many cases, becomes present: the mother-daughter ravage. She wonders how he lives in the transfer. She says that this issue appears as a difficulty in the analysis of women, linked to the difficulty of symbolizing female jouissance.
