Abstract
Agora is set in the moment of rising Christianity in Ancient World. In Alexandria live togheter with some difficulty Jews, pagans (they still believe in roman and egypcian politeism) and Christians. Also there live ‘scientists’, mathematicians, astronomers, philosophers. Almost all of them were pagans.
Hypatia was an upper class philosopher, pagan, who teach at the Library of Alexandria.
Around Hypatia’s figure it is built a filmic story that shows us the effects of passion of ignorance. This is one of being’s passions described by Lacan like analist’s passion, different from neurotic liking for the ignorance. The films allows us to make comparations between psychoanalysis, science and religion.
