The look and the ominous in 13 Reasons Why

The paper approaches the series 13 Reasons Why with the aim of situating the dimension of the ominous in the story. To do so, it introduces a brief overview of the status of the gaze in Jacques Lacan’s work and, following Gerard Wajcman’s approach to contemporary seriality, analyzes the place of the city and the gaze object in the story.
